More of Christ, Robert Hsieh

As I was contemplating my upcoming college graduation, I thought of all the sorts of adventures my life would bring. My future was before me and the possibilities were endless. But before all the dreams and goals I wanted to accomplish, I gave the Lord six months to serve Him in any capacity. Through my Christian upbringing, the normal train of thought was to be ordained or to serve as a missionary. As I started to gather information about being a missionary to places overseas, I was faced with the fact I had little knowledge of the Bible and even less contact with my Lord; I was completely taken aback. I was born again in Christ Jesus when I was thirteen, and that was the moment when the Lord was most real to me. Since my regeneration, I was not nourished with the pure milk of the Word (1 Peter 1:2), and my growth in Christ was no more than a few inches.

In light of my spiritual condition I could not go on an oversea's missionary trip to do a short period of outreach. I was ashamed and the light shone upon my poverty and lack of growth in the Lord. But, praise the Lord, He gave me companions to pursue Him, and they suggested to me to come to the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA). Through my companions, the Lord showed me that being submissive to the will of the Lord affords the Lord a way to work through me to those around me. Consequently, this would have a more lasting effect than doing an outward work without much of Christ as reality within me. To have the Lord as my center and reality is the meaning of my life. Our Lord is not merely seeking to do an outward work, but He seeks to have Himself wrought into each and every one of us (Ephesians 3:17).

Now after having passed through the fourth term of the Training where Christ is daily ministered and imparted into my being, I can sincerely testify that there is more of Christ today than before. The Lord not only deposited His divine element into me, but He also had a way to work on the various aspects of my character. The two years I have spent in the FTTA have left an indelible mark on my life.
